Why do women let men disrespect them so much?

I see so many women everyday on TV, shows like Maury, in my family, and friends who let men treat them like garbage. They have no wants for themselves other than to have babies by men who disrespect them and cheat on them. I don't understand it, It drives me crazy!!! Its not the 16 year olds that bother me so much, becuase 16 year olds are kind of immature anyways, but i mean women in their 20's and 30's they just have no self respect these days, and I dont understand where it comes from. I do not have any children yet but I just do not want to raise my kids to be these men or women, but it seems impossible in todays society.
