Can someone please explain this?

How in america...the so called richest country in the world....can people be homeless and hungry and unemployed? Let me explain before you rip into my *** lol. 50 years ago detroit was the manufacturing capital of the world. You could literally walk down the street and get a job at a plant. Your kids had college funds set up and you had retirement planned out. Now you are on the street with a "will work for food" sign. Your wife left you for bucktooth man. Oh and your kids are either porn stars or maury guests. What the hell happened to america?
